After a long wait, AMC’ s The Walking Dead is coming back tonight with a two hour season premiere. I don’t watch a bunch of T.V. , basically a few shows and Patriots football, so this is a real treat for me. Furthermore, my brother and I have vast discrepiencies on what we like for shows, just as we do in music. This show was a hit for both of us right off and hopefully we can catch some episodes when we are together for Thanksgiving. Like music we both like, we enjoy it more together.
Song of the year ‘Flagpole Sitta” Harvey Danger
Runners up: “Breathe” by Prodigy and “Tubthumper” by Chumbawumba
Shame of the year: “Bitch” by Meredith Brooks
I remember 1997 very well. I would turn 13 the next year, which to my young mind meant that adulthood and loose women were right around the corner. Music was turning to pop crap like the Backstreet Boys and the Spice girls, although I did have a major crush on each one of the Spice Girls throughout the year.
(As I think back, Scary and Ginger are the hottest, but I think I liked Sporty for some fucked up reason. Embarrassingly enough, I own the Spiceworld movie and must have gotten this year because that’s when it came out. I didn’t see it in the theaters luckily enough but owning it does make me feel a little guilty.)
